The Early Childhood Camp Counselor's main responsibility will be in the coordinating and facilitating of the Nature at Noon kid's camp, which is designed to provide fun, age appropriate games, outdoor nature activities, and crafts for preschool to second grade children. This entails planning lessons to be taught, gathering necessary educational supplies, and overseeing the facilitation of the camp. They will also assist with the implementation of other NOS summer camps whenever possible. They will be required to track participant numbers in the NOS database and evaluate the success of the Nature at Noon program. |

The Community Garden Youth Education position's main responsibility will be in the coordinating and facilitating of youth summer programs for the Winnemucca Community Garden. This entails coordinating and organizing the Junior Master Gardener Club curriculum and lesson plans, researching and applying for grants and organizing garden activities with youth & children's service based groups in the community. This position will also assist with other education and outreach programs the Community Garden offers. |
| Summer Program Specialist will help organize and facilitate the summer programs offered by Nevada Outdoor School, which includes Summer Adventure Camps, Girl's Camp, ATV Camp and more. The volunteer will be trained in developing and facilitating outdoor education lesson plans, research numerous outdoor topics to improve existing curriculum, and learn the skills to be an effective educator in order to help implement the summer programs mentioned above. They will also be required to enter participation numbers in the NOS database. *Summer of service positions were developed on the national level to engage youth who are college bound in national service before they go on to college. These positions are limited by that to college bound youth between the ages of 17 - 25. | |

Assist in implementing the interpretive program for Black Rock Station. Plan, develop and implement interpretive programs dealing with natural (e.g., geology, wildlife, and ecological processes) and cultural (e.g., archeology, history, and traditional cultural uses) themes. Assist the Host Site Supervisor in developing long-range planning for visitor facilities, including interpretive trails and signs, brochures, maps, handouts and other media as it relates to the backcountry and related BLM programs. Give presentations about resource stewardship and environmental awareness. Make contact with visitors and follow specific protocol, gathering statistically valid data for recording numbers of visitors contacted or observed in recreational areas. *Summer of service positions were developed on the national level to engage youth who are college bound in national service before they go on to college.
