The Outdoor Ethics Educator will deliver and assist with planning and coordination of all outdoor ethics programs of Nevada Outdoor School including Leave No Trace trainer courses, ATV Safety Camp, and an OHV poker run. The member will learn and teach about outdoor ethics including Leave No Trace, Tread Lightly!, and ATV safety.

The Civic Engagement Coordinator will organize and lead community events and programs to engage students and the general public in meaningful service learning, particularly teens.  This will include an afterschool program at the Winnemucca Junior incorporating PLT Green Schools as well as a project of the students choosing.  Service-learning projects are projects which invoke progression of academic and civic skills while giving back to the community.  The overall goals of the position are to offer positive community based experiences for teens and families and promote an attitude of service and “dedication to community.”

Naturalists will deliver and assist with planning and coordination of all of the educational programs of Nevada Outdoor School including in-classroom lessons, summer camps, special events, eco kids camps, and assist with field trip implementation. On average the Naturalists will teach 8 classes/week and reach 1,500 students each month. Naturalists will also provide input into the development kindergarten through 6th grade lesson plans that align with the National and State benchmarks and standards.
